It's so very frustrating and disheartening when a cold or virus sets you backwards. It's good to read you are feeling better now and know that we understand.

Thanks Leonie, I am hoping to stay cold free from now on!

I’m glad you’re back and sorry you’ve been through this. I have something similar happened sometimes with revising my memoir. Being Widowed and missing my dead husband take so much of my energy that sometimes working on the memoir, even though it’s very important to me, is just too much.

Thanks, Elizabeth. I appreciate your comment.

I am so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine how much emotional energy revisiting those memories must require. It makes complete sense that there are times when working on your memoir, even though it is important to you, simply feels like too much.

I think many of us discover that healing, grief, illness, and writing all draw from the same limited reserves. Sometimes stepping back is not giving up; it is simply recognising what we need in that moment.

Thank you for sharing that. I hope you are able to be gentle with yourself on the days when the memoir has to wait.

With the caveat that "feeling better" is a relative term for those of us living with chronic illness, I am glad to learn that you're feeling better and up to posting again.
