I have something called an Efoldi Explorer which folds up like a suitcase for the car! Its a lovely thing, but a bit low if you struggle getting down to that height. The optional cushion is also not optional in my opinion!

Hi Frances, I had one like that as well! My current wheelchair is called the Whill C2. It is not cheap, but it copes with most surfaces.
